Sy Kotik was born and abandoned in Sydney Australia in a dirty and poor section of the city known as Kings Cross. He grew up living in a local shop called Kotickinki Lingerie where he earned his keep by singing elevator and lounge music above the dressing rooms.

When Sy got older he sang with many local bands including Paticake and the Blue Bay Buggers. Their music is most famous as it was used by Australian public service announcements to promote safe sex and better Vegemite eating habits. The Lyrics “Golly Gee…Look at me…I can’t pee… I have V.D” is now sung by local Kings Cross school children as they eat vegemite and water cress sandwiches.

After falling asleep on top of a crate filled with cans of Spam during a part time job in Sydney Harbor, Sy inadvertently ended up in the Port of LA where he later met up with Rod Gozinya and Kraven Mohrhead, eventually forming the original version of Hair Nation.

After many grueling decades with the band where absolutely nothing happened, Sy’s ship finally came in just before the release of the band’s first EP when he hit the jackpot on the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner Lottery.

Upon verifying that the lottery was not actually a hoax, he immediately left the group and was believed to have headed south in search of Mas Tequila, as well to discuss some solid investment strategy with the Red Rocker…
